Be transported by Mercedes to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula and Red Hill Truffles. Experience the thrill of finding a truffle, black gold. Truffle season starts June when the air is cold, the soil moist and the sun is warming the rich earth at Red Hill.

Jenny McAuley and her dog, Thomas will show you the truffiere and give you the opportunity to find truffle under an oak or hazelnut tree, in the rich volcanic soil of Red Hill. Learn about the history of the Red Hill truffle farm and the mystery of the black truffle. Discover the intoxicating aroma and hear about the unique differences that truffles can bring to your next dish.

Explore with Thomas as he locates the scent and tracks down the elusive truffle. When Thomas locates a truffle he is rewarded for his find. Jenny will determine the readiness of the truffle for market. Discover the excitement of the dig, and have the opportunity to smell, handle photograph or even purchase the freshly dug truffle

Following the excitement of the hunt, we will take you onto the award winning Max's Restaurant at Red Hill Estate.  indulgent 5 course degustation menu, featuring local truffles. Each dish is matched to Red Hill Estate wines.
